Chief Executive

Karen Wright

Karen Wright joined the organisation in June 2010. Karen has over 33 years experience in various social care settings, ranging from Director for NSPCC to CEO for Royal Schools for the Deaf. Karen’s formal qualifications are: BSc. (Honours) Psychology, M.A Applied Social Studies and Business Administration and Certificate of Qualification in Social Work.

Chair of Trustees

Michael Kaltz

Michael is a Chartered Accountant from a commercial background, having spent 20 years at Ernst & Young, latterly as a senior Partner. He now acts as an advisor to a recruitment business which he built and he consults on business, HR and mergers and acquisitions. In 2011, he linked up with a well-known entrepreneur to launch Switched On Bootcamp, an initiative to bring entrepreneurial behaviours into big businesses . Michael also sits on the North West London Employment Tribunal.

Honorary Treasurer

James Minett

James is a senior investment director in the charities division of the city stockbroker firm of Rensburg Sheppards. He joined the firm in 1995. James is a longstanding trustee of Shaftesbury.

Annie Brough

Annie is a recently retired Chief Executive with experience of working in NHS Community Trusts within Southwark, Lambeth and Lewisham. Her experience includes work with children, people with disabilities, the elderly, workforce matters, performance management and organisations undergoing change.

Mary Cheves

Mary is a Partner at Russell Cooke who specialises in property law and providing advice to Charities and Voluntary Sector groups.

Gerri McAndrew

Gerri has been Chief Executive of the Frank Buttle Trust since 2003, moving across from the Fostering Network. Having qualified as a social worker, Gerri worked in inner London authorities, becoming Assistant Director of Social Services before transferring to the third sector.

David Neita

David is a barrister and published performance poet. He uses his wide range of skills in representing and working with young people who are excluded and people in health settings.

Colin Renwick

Colin is a former service user having spent teenage years on the Arethusa Training Ship before pursuing a career in the Royal Navy. He is now managing director of ‘Balloons to Go’, a major supplier to the trade and for large events.

Christine Mansi

Christine has worked in the charity sector for 18 years and was previously a school govenor for a nursery and chaired the governing body for 4 years. Chris is the CEO and Company Secretary for Community Options and Mental Health Charity.

Hugh Salmon

Hugh is a registered Social Worker, and since qualifying in 1995 has worked with children and families for local authority children's services, and national and international voluntary organisations, in practice, training and management roles. He is currently an Operations Director for Welcare, a South London charity specialising in family support, contact and family group meetings.
