Supported Housing

Our supported housing projects offer accommodation to young single homeless people in a stable, dependable and supportive environment.
We support them to gain the skills, confidence and experience they will need to take on the responsibilities of independent living. When they move on to their own self-contained accommodation we want to know that they will be successful in doing this.

Each young person is allocated a Housing Support Worker who is responsible for supporting and overseeing their progress in an agreed plan. Their plan is based on the Every Child Matters 5 outcomes with a focus on developing independence skills. This plan addresses the individual needs of the young person as assessed during the referral and interview process and is written in collaboration with the young person.

Supported Housing

Our London service
The London service provides supported shared accommodation for up to 18 months. It is a high quality dispersed service offering a homely environment currently across three boroughs, in five properties. These provide for 19 young people aged 16-21 years old, who are leaving care, who are homeless and who may be vulnerable, or at risk, or otherwise in need.

Our Medway Service
The Medway service provides short term intensive support accommodation for 25 young people, and aims to equip them with the skills, knowledge and experience to be able to make a success of living on their own in the community. This service was set up in April 2007, offering housing and support for young people, aged 16 - 24, who may have complex needs. Young people may be leaving care or they may challenge of another kind in terms of their lifestyle – they may have a history of offending; or former substance misuse. Additionally young people might be in need of greater support with their mental health. Young people are referred through Medway Council Housing and the young person’s panel.
