Supported Housing

Shaftesbury Young People provides a range of homely supported accommodation to care leavers and single young homeless people aged 16–24.

As a care leaver, it is a huge jump to go from residential/foster care, to independent living. Independence and the responsibilities it brings is a lot to take on as a young person. This can be a daunting time, especially for those estranged from friends and family.

Young PersonSupported housing gives young people their own room with use of shared kitchens and bathrooms. Our staff are on hand to assist residents to care for themselves and their surroundings. Support ranges from budgeting living expenses, to healthy cooking, to maintaining employment. We aim to equip young people with the necessary skills, confidence and experience to take on the personal responsibilities of independent living.
